In the admin console, you can add picture and video content for use in your digital signage slideshow and mobile app, as well as in your On Demand media.
Adding Pictures & Videos
To add media, open the community where the media should display, and choose Pictures and Video.
The Albums page will display two automatic albums called All Pictures and All Videos - these albums contain all picture and video content that you have uploaded. You can also create your own custom albums using the New Album button. (In the screenshot above, the Meet the Staff and Therapy Animals albums are custom albums.) Click into a custom album or the All Pictures or All Videos album, and use the Add button to add new media content.
When adding pictures, you can upload multiple files at a time and set a caption for each.
After a picture has been added, you can later edit the picture's settings by clicking on it within the album. This allows you to adjust the picture's caption, rotate it, choose to hide it individually, move it to another album, or delete it.
You can upload your own video files and add YouTube videos. Please be sure the videos that you use in Share meet the criteria listed here to ensure that they can be uploaded and viewed successfully in the Share products.
When uploading your own video, choose the file from your computer and add a title for the video.
When adding a YouTube video, paste the YouTube link into the YouTube Link field. The admin console will automatically pull in the title of the video from YouTube.
After the video has been added, you can click on it in the album to adjust the video's title, choose to hide it individually, move it to another album, or delete it.
A Note about Copyrighted YouTube Videos
YouTube videos containing copyrighted material may not be able to play successfully in the Share player. For example, if there is background music and that music is copyrighted, YouTube may block the video from being played anywhere except within the YouTube website. Please be sure that the content you are adding does not have copyright restrictions.
Using Custom Albums
Custom albums can contain a mixture of picture and video content. You can use the album settings to control whether the all of the content in that album should be available to appear in your slideshow or mobile app, including adding a date range for when the content should display. To edit a custom album's name and display settings, click the arrow button inside the custom album and choose Edit Album.
How Hidden Media Works
The settings for showing/hiding media allow you to determine if that media item should be included in your community's digital signage slideshow and in the mobile app. Items that are Hidden will still be available in On Demand mode. This allows you to add a variety of content for use in On Demand mode without that content also playing in your slideshow.
When viewing your media albums and content in the admin console, if you do not see a particular item, try clicking the Show Hidden button to reveal any hidden content.
