Security Summary
Device Security
Spectrio media players run modified distributions of Linux or Android with limited user privileges. All non-essential daemons/services are disabled or removed and packages are updated to address any security concerns.
Network Security
EngageDS media players operate only in a pull mode with our servers. This makes it very easy to configure networking at a site as well as reduces security concerns with the player. Players cache media on the device so that play can continue uninterrupted even when the Internet is not available. Large media can be scheduled for download during off-peak hours to minimize the bandwidth required for players.
Our media players allow only outbound connectivity and expose no services or ports by default. No unsanctioned external URLs or client calls are permitted, all content must originate from Spectrio servers. The following domains and ports are required to be open and whitelisted for operation.
Outbound Ports
TCP 80/443 – HTTP/HTTPS
UDP 123 – NTP
