- Share's set-top box uses a standard 120v electrical plug that needs to be located near the display television.
- Intenet Connections - Share will connect via wired or wireless Internet. Wired uses a Standard Cat 5 connection. Wireless has dual band access.
- TV Requirements - Standard or High Definition w/available HDMI or Composite (Red, White, Yellow) inputs.
- Share's device has similar requirements to a traditional PC email client. Every two minutes, the box will call to the server to see if there is any updated content. The payloads are very small (<1k) unless there is a picture or video attached.
- Use of streaming music or videos will increase bandwidth requirements. However, Share performs picture and video compression on the server so that picture and video content is delivered to the set-top box with a high enough resolution for display on the TV but at a much smaller data size than the original content.
- The Share set-top box aggressively caches data so that content that has not changed is not sent repetitively from the server. This also allows Share to continue displaying information during Internet interruptions or outages.
