Diagnostic LEDs

Light | Meaning | Description |
---|---|---|
(1) | Power | Light (1) will be illuminated green when the device is connected to a power source |
(2) | Ethernet | Light (2) will be illuminated green when it detects network traffic |
(3) | Connected to switch | Light (3) will be illuminated red when the device is connected to a working network switch |
(4) | Obtained IP address | Light (4) will be illuminated yellow when the device has obtained an IP address from your DHCP server |
(5) | Able to pass “heartbeat” messages | Light (5) will be illuminated green when the device has connected to the Spectrio device monitoring server |
(6) | Able to obtain software updates | Light (6) will be illuminated green when the device has connected to the software update server |
Note: All six lights should be illuminated within 30 minutes. If all lights are not illuminated after 30 minutes, please contact Spectrio Customer Support.
Troubleshooting

(1) Off | [Cause] The access point is not receiving power. [Solution] Make sure the Ethernet cable that is plugged into the access point is plugged into the PoE side of the power injector. Make sure the power cord is plugged into the wall. |
(2) Off | [Cause] The access point does not detect network traffic. [Solution] Verify that the cable that is plugged into the access point is working by plugging it into a computer. |
(3) Off | [Cause] The access point can not verify that it is connected to a working network switch. [Solution] Verify that the cable coming out of the LAN side of the power cord is plugged into a working switch that can connect to the internet. |
(4) Off | [Cause] The access point was unable to obtain a DHCP address. [Solution] Verify that the access point is on the network and can obtain a DHCP address from the DHCP server. |
(5) Off | [Cause] The access point is unable to connect to the device monitoring server via port 80 and 443. [Solution] Most likely a firewall is blocking traffic from the AP02 to VS Network's servers. Open ports 80, 443, and 2209 outbound on the firewall to allow the AP02 to communicate with the required servers. |
(6) Off | [Cause] The access point is unable to connect to the software update server via port 2209. [Solution] Most likely a firewall is blocking traffic from the AP02 to VS Network's servers. Open ports 80, 443, and 2209 going out on the firewall to allow the AP02 to communicate with the required servers. |
