Create Interactive Content
Overview:
- Visuals will always be important, but touch control is quickly picking up dominance in the technology world. Almost every digital device has touchscreen interfaces; from phones to tablets- people are used to sliding their fingers across displays. So why have a digital signage deployment without interactive capabilities?
- For any industry, the ultimate goal of communication is engagement. Retaining audience attention is an invaluable trait that interactive intelligence provides. At Spectrio, we realize that touchscreen displays are perfectly designed for directories, wayfinding, endless aisle shopping, social media integrations, and more.
- Want to build your own interactive content? With Campaign Touch you can create interactive experiences quickly and easily. Touchpoints can be added to a template or a slide in a campaign. Once a touch point is added you can select an action of triggering a full-screen video or another campaign.
Planning:
- Sketch out a site map to give you an idea of how you would like to build out your touch experience. Start with a B-Roll video to grab the eye of your viewers and then go from there. A B-Roll is a video that is similar to a screen saver. The video will play when the experience is not in use. Once a viewer touches the screen the homepage will play.
- Below is an example of a sitemap. As you can see you can create a multilevel touch experience with campaign touch. It can be as deep or as shallow as you need.

Tips and Tricks:
- Slides should be concise, touch points and actions easily distinguished.
- The timing of your slides is of the utmost importance. Think of your slide as a page, how long will your viewer need to read, absorb, and decide their next action? You do not want your page to timeout before your viewer has made a decision on their next step.
- When using full-screen videos your video will play completely before going back to your touch slides. When a slide ends the content will go back to the b-roll.
- If you have a video on your slide we recommend duplicating that slide 2 to 3 times so that the video can play and repeat which will give your viewer time to watch the video and read the slide.
- ADA guidelines stipulate that all touch points will need to be no higher than 48” from the floor. Be mindful of this when designing your layouts and hanging your screen.
- Keep it simple
