If a resident's device is not receiving push notifications, try the solutions outlined here.
Check the Notification Settings in the Share app
First, check that notifications are turned on within the Share app on the resident's device.
- Tap Main Menu.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll down to Notification settings.
- Does it say "You have notifications turned on!"? If not:
- Tap Change.
- Tap the switch next to Allow Notifications.
- Tap Save.
If the notification settings appear to already be turned on in the Share app, try turning them off, saving that change, and then turning them back on and saving again.
Check the Notification Settings on the Device
The device has its own controls for notification settings that operate separately from the settings within the Share app.
To check those settings on iOS:
- Open the Settings app on the device.
- Tap Notifications.
- Scroll down to locate the Share app, then tap on it.
- If the switch next to Allow Notifications is turned off, then tap it to switch it on.
To check the notification settings on Android version 8:
- Open the Settings app on the device.
- Tap Apps & Notifications.
- Tap App Info.
- Locate the Share app, then tap on it.
- Tap App Notifications.
- Make sure the switch is toggled "On."
These steps may vary slightly depending on which version of Android the device is running.
After helping a resident troubleshoot notifications on their device, try sending the resident a message from the admin console. If the notifications are now working, the resident should see a notification appear for the message you send them.
