Requirements, Configuration, and Network Settings for Samsung Tizen Players
Samsung Tizen Player Requirements
The first step to configuring your Samsung Tizen is to ensure the necessary hardware connections are in place. This includes a power adapter and a network connection.
*Please Note: The Samsung Tizen currently does not support the playback of audio from CommandCenterHD uploaded video files.
- A network connection that conforms to our network topology.
- An active Spectrio MediaBridge with the Web Cache enabled,
- Access to your CommandCenterHD account from a computer.
- The Samsung Tizen Remote Control.
- A keyboard and a mouse connected to the Samsung Tizen.
- Correct Firmware Version - Before configuring your E-Series player, confirm that your device is on the latest software from the manufacturer. To do this, take the following steps:
- On your remote, press MENU
- Arrow down to “Support” and press SELECT
- Arrow to “Contact Samsung” and press SELECT
- Note the last four regular digits of the “Software Version,” along with any digits after the dot.
Once you have your device’s current software version, compare it to the latest version (noted below). If your software version is behind, it needs to be upgraded using the steps outlined before you can configure your player.
Current version: 2110.5
- Obtain the latest software version from the following link: https://cchdrsrc.channelshd.com/firmware/PMF/firmware.zip
- Unzip the file which will result in a folder named T-HKMLAKUC_USB
- Rename the folder to T-HKMLAKUC
- Copy the folder to the root of a blank USB drive and plug it in to the Tizen device
- With the remote control, go to Menu > Support > Software Update > Update Now
- The device will ask if you want to update from the USB drive. Select Yes
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the update process
Note: IW app must be closed to run the update.
Note: This also applies to the PMH model – it is not a part of the Tizen 3.0 family.
Tizen 3.0 (H Series):
Current version: 2100.5
- Obtain the latest software version from the following link: https://cchdrsrc.channelshd.com/firmware/QMH/firmware.zip
- Unzip the file which will result in a folder named T-KTMLAKUC_USB
- Rename the folder to T-KTMLAKUC
- Copy the folder to the root of a blank USB drive and plug it into the Tizen device
- With the remote control, go to Menu > Support > Software Update > Update Now
- The device will ask if you want to update from the USB drive. Select Yes
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the update process
Note: IW app must be closed to run the update.
Applies to: QMH, and QBH
Tizen 4.0 (N Series):
Current Version: 2080.3
- Obtain the latest software version from the following link: https://cchdrsrc.channelshd.com/firmware/QBN/firmware.zip
- Unzip the file which will result in a folder named T-KTM2ELAKUC_USB
- Rename the folder to T-KTM2ELAKUC
- Copy the folder to the root of a blank USB drive and plug it into the Tizen device
- With the remote control, go to Menu > Support > Software Update > Update Now
- The device will ask if you want to update from the USB drive. Select Yes
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the update process
Note: IW app must be closed to run the update.

Configuring the Samsung Tizen
- For CommandCenterHD Mode: Proceed directly to step #2. For MediaBridge Mode:Login to the web interface for your MediaBridge, by navigating to it’s IP address in a web browser. Go to the Account Configuration section and set your Web Cache Key.*Your Web Cache Key can be found in your CommandCenterHD Configuration page under the section Account Settings.
- Power on the Samsung Tizen.
- Using the remote control, press the Home key.
- Select the URL Launcher Setting button in the popup dock at the bottom of the screen.

*If you do not see the Change URL button: Press the home button on the remote until you see an empty screen

Hit the menu button on the remote

Navigate to Menu – Settings – System – Play Via – change PlayVIA from MagicInfo to URL Launcher.

You may need to turn the screen off and then back on before being able to change the settings to PlayVIA. If you are unable to edit please reach out to cchdsupport@spectrio.com

- After clicking on the URL Launcher Setting button, click on the Install Web App button.

After clicking on the Change URL button, enter the address for either CommandCenterHD mode or MediaBridge mode.

Please also verify you have your web cache key entered in your MediaBridge, as described in step #1.

- Click the OK button at the bottom of the screen.
- Once the app has been activated, you will see a PIN number appear on the Samsung’s screen.
- Login to your CommandCenterHD account on a separate computer.
- On your CommandCenterHD Dashboard hover over the Gear icon in the upper right and click Devices.
- From the Device Manager screen, click Authorize Smart Device.
12. Enter the authorization code from your player display and then click on the Authorize button.
13. A new window will pop up prompting you to fill out information for this player. Be sure to fill out the required fieldslisted below:
- Player Name: Choose a name to identify this player.
- Player Status: Active status will allow the player to sync content.FormatChoose your screen orientation.
- Player Channel: Choose the content Channel you would like this player to display.
- Video Quality: We recommend a setting of High.
- Set Synchronization Window: Configure a set time for the Samsung Tizen to sync content. *Set this to Disabled to sync content normally.
- Location: Enter this player’s location and click on the “Get Coordinates” button.
14. Click on the Save button once you have entered the required information. It will then take 5-10 minutes to register and then begin to download the necessary files for playback. Once these are downloaded, you will see content playback on the screen.
How to Set a Vertical Orientation
- If the IWPlayer App is running, press the Exit button on the remote to shut down the App.
- Press the Menu button on the remote.
- Go to OnScreen Display → Display Orientation and change both the Onscreen Menu Orientation and the Source Content Orientation to Portrait.
- Press Exit on the remote to return to the home screen, and press the Home button, and then click on the IWPlayer URL Launcher button.
- The Samsung will show a Welcome screen and then switch to playing your content.*To switch back to Landscape mode, just reverse the changes.
Access Tizen Network Settings
- If the IWPlayer App is running, press the Exit button on the remote to shut down the App.
- Press the Menu button on the remote.
- Select the Network button.
- Select the Open Network Settings button.
- In this section, you can configure the network settings to fit your needs.
