Spectrio provides high-quality, brand-targeted PowerPoint® templates that customers can customize and convert into video files that can be uploaded to their Spectrio media library. This article covers:
- Where to find Spectrio' PowerPoint® templates
- How to customize the contents of a template
- How to use Microsoft® PowerPoint® to produce HD quality videos
Browse Templates
Browse the selection of brand-targeted templates and pick the one that you want to customize. You may click on the square image for any file to see a preview of the video.
Click the “Download” link to save the template file on your computer.
Unzip the Template Archive File
Open your file manager program (“Computer” or “My Computer” on Windows PCs; “Finder” on Mac OS X) and navigate to the file that you downloaded. Extract the contents of the file. On Windows PCs, this can be done by right-clicking on the file and then clicking on “Extract All...”.
Open a Template File
In many cases, a template archive (“zip”) file will contain more than one PowerPoint® file. Open one of the template files and familiarize yourself with the various template placeholders, which will be replaced with your custom content.
Customize Your Template
Customize the PowerPoint® file by replacing placeholder images with your own images, replacing placeholder text with your custom messages, and adding your company logo. To change an existing image (such as a placeholder logo image), right-click on the image and then select “Change Picture...”.
You can see a preview of the final video by starting the presentation (press the “Start From Beginning” button, or press the F5 key on your keyboard).
Continue customizing the template to your liking. Make sure that all placeholder text and images have either been replaced with your content or have been deleted.
Export to Video
To export your PowerPoint® presentation to an MP4 video file, you must first save your work. To save your changes, click on the “File” tab in the top-left portion of the screen...
... click the “Browse” button...
... determine where you would like to save the file, (optionally) provide a different file name for presentation, and then click “Save”.
Next, click on the “File” tab in the top-left portion of the screen again and follow these steps:
- Click on “Create a Video”
- For “Presentation Quality”, select “Largest file size and highest quality (1920 × 1080)". In the next selection box, select “Use Recorded Timings and Narrations”.
- Click on “Create Video”
A “Save As” dialog will appear. Determine where you would like to save the exported video file, (optionally) provide a different file name for the video, and then click “Save”.
In the bottom-center portion of the screen, you will see a progress bar with the message “Creating video .mp4". The video export may take several minutes, so please be patient while Microsoft® PowerPoint® encodes your presentation as an MP4 video file. Do not close the Microsoft® PowerPoint® application or open another presentation while your video is being created.
Once the video export process is complete, you may open your file manager program, navigate to the exported video file, and then open the file to view your video. If you would like to make any changes, switch back to the presentation, make your edits, save your work, and then export to a video file again. Once you are satisfied with your video, you may upload it to your media library on the Spectrio content management site.
If you require assistance at any time during the template customization process, please email support@spectrio.com with the subject “PowerPoint Help”, the name of the PowerPoint® template you are using, and a brief description of your issue.
