The following are Supported Media Types for CommandCenterHD Digital Signage
Images
CCHD Supported Formats
CommandCenterHD features a built-in image converter that converts all images into a specially formatted file type for the media players in your deployment.
Supported image formats include:
.AAI, .ART, .ARW, .AVI, .AVS, .BMP, .CALS, .CGM, .CIN, .CMYK, .CMYKA, .CR2, .CRW, .CUR, .CUT, .DCM, .DCR, .DCX, .DIB, .DJVU, .DNG, .DOT, .DPX, .EMF, .EPDF, .EPI, .EPS, .EPS2, .EPS3, .EPSF, .EPSI, .EPT, .EXR, .FAX, .FIG, .FITS, .FPX, .GPLT, .GRAY, .HDR, .HPGL, .HRZ, .HTML, .ICO, .INFO, .INLINE, .JBIG, .JNG, .JP2, .JPC, .JPEG, .NEF, .ORF, .OTB, .P7, .PALM, .PAM, .PBM, .PCD, .PCDS, .PCL, .PCX, .PDB, .PDF, .PEF, .PFA, .PFB, .PFM, .PGM, .PICON, .PICT, .PIX, .PNG, .PNG8, .PNG24, .PNG32, .PNM, .PPM, .PS, .PS2, .PS3, .PSB, .PSD, .PTIF, .PWP, .RAD, .RAF, .RGB, .RGBA, .RLA, .RLE, .SCT, .SFW, .SGI, .SHTML, .SID, MrSID, .SUN, .SVG, .TGA, .TIFF, .TIM, .TTF, .TXT, .UIL, .UYVY, .VICAR, .VIFF, .WBMP, .WEBP, .WMF, .WPG, .X, .XBM, .XCF, .XPM, .XWD, .JPG
DMP Native Supported Formats
Cisco’s DMPs natively support specific image formats. Image formats listed are listed below. It should be noted that when using the Remote Images option in CommandCenterHD, the file does not go through our image converter meaning that the files must be compatible with your Digital Media Player.
JPEG Supported by Cisco 4310, 4400, 4305 players
A Compressed image format best suited for photographs and other high color images. JPEG is not suitable for images with text, large blocks of color or simple shapes because crisp lines may blur and colors can shift.
JPEGS should always be saved in the RGB color space. CMYK is not supported on the web either in CommandCenterHD or within the Cisco DMPs.
PNG Supported by Cisco 4310, 4400, 4305 players
Use PNG when you need smaller file sizes with no loss in quality. PNG comes in two flavors, PNG-8 and PNG-24. PNG-8 provides a smaller palette of color while PNG-24 supports a much wider palette of color and full 24-bit alpha transparency. Use the PNG-24 format to get the best results out of images with text, large blocks of color or simple shapes. PNG-24 also offers for best results when using images that contain transparency.
Image Performance Notes
- Images designated to be ‘background images’ within CommandCenterHD must be set to 1366 pixels by 768 pixels or 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels. Images added to templates at an aspect ratio other than these supported resolutions will yield unsatisfactory results.
- Image files should not exceed 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels tall. We recommend uploading images at the size you wish for them to display on the screen. If the file is larger than 1920 on the long or short end, the file will be automatically resized by CCHD. Unless you’re running a video wall deployment that uses special canvas sizes.
Videos
Video Overview
When video is uploaded into CommandCenterHD, the CCHD server converts the media into two separate formats. The first, a low-resolution Flash preview designed for previewing within the system. The second, a high-resolution MPEG specifically formatted for the Cisco DMP.
Supported Formats
Currently, you can upload mpg, mpeg, mov, mp4, avi, dv, and wmv file types.
Recommended Quality Settings
H.264 MPEG-4 is best. A bitrate of 10Mbps – 15Mbps recommended for high-definition video.
