Intro to Remote Images in MediaHD
This article will teach you how to upload and edit a Remote Image in MediaHD. A Remote Image is an external piece of media that can be accessed using a URL. These can be items such as a Weather Radar, Satellite Image, or other online image.
NOTE: Many images on the web are copyrighted to their specific author. Be sure to obtain permission to use any images on external websites that are not your own.
Adding Remote Images to MediaHD
1. While in MediaHD, select the tab for Remote Images.
2. Click the Add Media button. This will open the Add External Image window, with the following fields:
- Image Name - Set the name of the Remote image in MediaHD
- URL - Enter the URL for your Remote Image asset. NOTE: The URL entered must be public so that the devices can access the content. If a URL is private or password protected, the players will not be able to playback that page’s content.
- Active/Deactivate - If this box is checked, that means the asset will be available for use in CCHD. If not, it can not be used in playback.
- Description - A note field to add information for the Remote Image.
- Advanced Settings - Include Caching options, like intervals for asset updates and Cache Relay, that allows you to choose between caching the Remote Image at the CCHD Cloud or MediaBridge level. Also, add this to any of your CCHD groups or add a custom tag to better search this asset.
3. Then, click the Save Image button.
