If you are looking for content that you added to the admin console and you can't locate it, here are three things to verify:
- Is the content currently disabled/hidden in your community? If so, click the Show Disabled or Show Hidden button at the top of the page.
- Do you have a lot of content in that area? If so, use the Prev/Next buttons to check if your content is on a later page. You can also use the Search box to search by Name or Caption.
- Are you viewing the right community? If not, use the Community Switcher to switch to the community where that content is applied.
Revealing Hidden/Disabled Content in the Admin Console
The admin console has options on each piece of content that allow you to control when that content should display in your community.
When you are viewing the Announcements, Pictures and Videos, and Custom Slide content areas in the admin console, it will automatically hide from view any content that is not currently set up to appear in your community, allowing you to easily zero in on the items that will display in the community today. At the top of the page, you can click the Show Disabled or Show Hidden button to reveal any content that is not currently displayed in your community.
In the example screenshot below, the Announcements area shows the four announcements that are set up to display today. Two are set up to always display, and two have a display date range that includes today's date.
After clicking the Show Disabled button, the Announcements that are not currently enabled in the community are revealed, with a faint red background to indicate that they are not currently displayed in the community.
For Activity and Menu content, those items appear only on the date(s) that they are assigned. To navigate to different days, you can use click on the dates shown at the top of the screen, use the arrows to move to a new week, or click on the calendar icon to jump to an exact date.
Searching Through Long Content Lists
Each page in the admin console displays up to 15 pieces of content. If you have more than 15 content items in an area, they will be broken up into different pages. You can use the Prev and Next buttons to navigate from page to page.
You can also use the Search box at the top of the screen to search for the item. For Announcements and Custom Slides, the search looks at the Name field; for Pictures and Videos, it looks at the Caption field.
Content is Assigned to a Different Community
You can assign content to appear in some communities but not others. If the content you are looking for is not assigned to the community you are viewing, then you will not see it listed in that community. Use the Community Switcher to switch to the appropriate community.
Note: The exception to this is content that is assigned to a parent community. For example, content that is assigned to a Campus will appear in all Units under that campus. However, you must be viewing the community where that content is assigned in order to edit that content.
