Intro to the Birthdays and Anniversaries App
In this article, we will review Birthdays and Anniversaries within the Apps section in CommandCenterHD (CCHD).
Recognition is one way to make sure your employees know they are valued, and the Birthdays and Anniversaries App showcases your employees special day! Using a properly formatted Excel document, you can easily create content that can be used repeatedly throughout the year.

Creating a Birthdays and Anniversaries Source
1. On the Slides page, navigate to the Sources button in the top right corner of the page.
2. Click Add New Source.
3. In the new window that populates, choose either Excel or External Link as your Source option.
Creating an Excel Source
When creating an Excel Data Source, you'll need to create a file that is configured in the proper format to be read by the App.
NOTE: If you need a Excel Template to build off of, click the Download the Starter File at the bottom of the window to download a template.
Then, fill out the following fields:
- Source Name - Give a unique name to the Data Source.
- Select Excel File - Select a properly formatted Excel File from your computer to upload as the Data Source.
Once finished, click Create Source.
Creating an External Link Source
You can also choose the External Link option and store your Excel file in a cloud storage location that can be accessed by the App.
Then, fill out the following fields:
- Source Name - Give a unique name to the Data Source.
- External Link - Enter the accessible link for the Excel file you'll be using for the Data Source.
Once finished, click Create Source.
Creating a Birthdays and Anniversaries Slide
1. On the Slides page, click on Create New Slide at the top of the page.
2. Select a Template based on whether you want an Anniversaries or Birthday Slide. Cupcake and Black Forest are used for Anniversaries, and Red Velvet and Happy Birthday are used for Birthdays.
3. On the Slide Editor page, you'll see a preview of the feed on the left and settings on the right.
NOTE: You will not see a preview at first. The preview will populate as you configure the source and settings for the slide.
4. Using the Data Source field, select one, or multiple, existing Source(s) or Add a New Source to add data to the slide.
5. Then, fill out the following fields based on how you'd like to configure the Slide:
- Slide Title - Give a unique name to the Slide
- Colors - Select the colors for different assets on your slide, like Text and Overlay.
- Select Background - Add a Background to the Slide.
- Select Logo - Add a logo to the Slide.
6. Once finished, click Create.
Previewing a Birthdays and Anniversaries Slide
To preview the Birthdays and Anniversaries Slide, hover over the Thumbnail of the Slide and click on the Eye Icon.
Publishing a Birthdays and Anniversaries Slide
To publish the Birthdays and Anniversaries Slide for use at the Template or Campaign level, hover over the Thumbnail of the Slide and click on the Cloud Icon.
Editing a Birthdays and Anniversaries Slide
To edit the Birthdays and Anniversaries Slide, hover over the Thumbnail of the Slide and click on the Pencil Icon.
Removing a Birthdays and Anniversaries Slide
To delete a Birthdays and Anniversaries Slide, hover over the Thumbnail of the Slide and click on the Trash Can Icon.
